Covered extensively in numerous magazines, this engine package makes a profound improvement in power and torque for any Ford FE engine. Our FE stroker kits are significantly different.
We use only name brand suppliers - no white boxes, no mystery metal, and no cheap rebuilder quality junk hidden behind a made up house brand name. We have actually built these engines - hundreds of them - and do so every week in our own fully equipped engine shop, and run them on our own dyno to prove and refine the combinations. We can tell you what works, what fits, what does not, and can prove it with first hand experience.
Many of our proven combinations can be viewed running on YouTube, and can be read about by visiting various FE engine tech forums, where complete write-ups and dyno data are available. Included in the kit are. Genuine Scat 9000 series 4.250 stroke crankshaft.
(no unknown or secondary suppliers). Scat brand 6.700 long I beam rods with ARP 8740 fasteners. Federal Mogul race main bearings with 3/4 oiling groove. Not cheap passenger car stuff. Federal Mogul race rod bearings with chamfer clearance for the crankshaft radii.
Cheaper passenger car parts often will not provide adequate clearance! File fit plasma-moly metric low friction piston ring set. Specifically made for FE strokers these pistons feature unique dome and interior designs, for the ultimate combination of light weight and strength. 040 over for 360s or 390s with a dish for pump gas compression or a flat top for higher compression. Other pistons and brands are available for numerous applications and engines at additional cost - Diamond, Mahle, SRP or Race-Tec, and numerous sizes and configurations for 352, 360, 390, 427 and 428 based stroker combinations. Our kits are internally balanced in house, on our own nearly new computerized balancer. They require you use an internal balance flywheel and damper such as found on a normal 390 or 427. Balancing is included in every kit - not a hidden extra cost add on. Our kits do not require any grinding or clearance work when installed in any factory 360, 390, 428, or 427 block. Our kits will work with any aftermarket aluminum heads.They will also work with production iron heads as well. Depending on your choice of cylinder heads and camshaft, this kit will support as much as 700 horsepower. We have built and dyno tested combinations with mild cams and iron heads at the 400 horsepower level for trucks, and have run some 445 combinations with a large roller cams, high compression and a Victor or dual quad intakes that approached the 600 horsepower level. Most 390 based 445 engines will deliver around 500 horsepower and over 500 pounds of torque. Please be aware that these kits are assembled custom to your order and normally take between 4 and 6 weeks to deliver.
